Lacey got to play the real-life version of whack-a-mole this week. While managing her newly planted tomatoes, she saw the ground in our backyard pulsating and yelled at me to come over. I? puzzled over? what it was,? but Lacey didn’t wait for me. She dug around? the moving ground? with her garden hoe until she saw? a small furry creature. Then she smacked? the animal over the head and ran away screaming. Upon further inspection we saw that it was a mole! I whacked it again to make sure it was dead and then slung it over the fence. I just hope we don’t have any more burrowing in our yard. Lacey put chili powder down the other mole holes to make them go away.

First of all, Happy Mother’s Day to our wonderful Moms!?

We had a lot of fun last weekend with everyone!? It was good to hang out and eat and shop and mostly just eat. I wish the weather had been nicer. Mom you will have to send or post? your pictures. Chris, we hope you are feeling better!?

Now to baby updates…. Lacey is officially into the second trimester now. Lacey’s six-pack stomach has turned into a one-pack. I am growing a sympathy belly so she doesn’t feel so bad.

Our unborn child is about the size of a lemon and growing fast. Her (or his)? arms are almost proportional to her body, and her hands are about half an inch long. Yesterday, Lacey went to the doctor and got to hear the baby’s heartbeat.? The doctor? said it was 160 beats per minute and sounded like a train. He even heard the baby kick. Our baby is already developing soccer skills!
