We find out in a few weeks if we are having a boy or girl. Grandpa Mike is convinced it will be a girl. He has previously predicted the correct sex? of all his children, so why not the first grandbaby? Besides, Lacey has a family full of firstborn females. Lacey is firstborn, her mother is firstborn, as well as many others in her family. Others think it will be a boy. I (Mitch) was a? firstborn as was my father,? my father’s? father, and the father of my father’s father? (someone correct me if I am wrong). One sex will have to give in. So which will it be? Vote below. But please, no wagering.

Not to overshadow Chris’s news…but Lacey is pregnant! I am going to be a daddy!!! Ahhh!!

We are very excited but still absorbing the shock. We actually went to the doctor this week and Lacey got her first sonogram. As the nurse moved the? sonogram tool? around, it was so cool to watch the monitor and suddenly see a tiny gummy-bear-like? baby show up? in a? black? hole. It is now an inch long and has arm and leg stubs and a heartbeat. Here is the actual sonogram picture:

The new and more accurate due date is November 6.

One of the best parts about finding out? we are going to have a baby? was telling our parents that they are going to be grandparents.? They were all pretty shocked when we told them. To tell Ellen, we made up some words that sound like the phrase “I am going to be a grandmother.” Sort of like the game Mad Gab. Then we gave her a card that said “Hi Ham Gun King To Vee Hag Rant Mud Her” and told her to read it out loud fast. Looking at the words, it is hard to? understand what? phrase they? stand for, but others? who just hear the words together can understand it easier. See the video here.

To tell the Borgers, we gave them baby gifts. Tanner and Chance got baby bottles filled with candy, and Mike and Lynnae got bibs with “I love grandpa/grandma” on them. We wrapped the bibs around their favorite coffee just to throw them off. See their surpise in the video here.

Chris is engaged! I was definitely starting to? worry that he would never be able to find anyone, but he? is following the leads of his older siblings like clockwork.?

Here are the pictures.? He actually? got up on stage at the Amarillo Club and sang a Frank Sinatra number before proposing to Shanna. Very impressive. I didn’t know anyone in the fam? could sing. Oh, and if you ask him nicely he might show you the video taken by my father? while hiding behind a moving dessert cart.

I think the wedding is set for December…
