I feel like I have been tested as a true mom recently. Beckett is slowly recovering from a double ear infection and teething. His first round of antibiotics did not work so he received an antibiotic shot both Thursday and Friday. He is on the mend, but those silly teeth are still giving him trouble.
Carter has a pretty nasty stomach bug. He threw up every 15-30 min. from 10pm until about 4 am Sunday night. It was so sad. He is a trooper though and is definitely enjoying all the TV time! After getting sick the first time he said “Mommy, I think I choked on a carrot.” He was asleep so I guess that is what it felt like to him. Then as I was bathing him he said, “Mommy, I think I ate too many cookies at the baby shower.” He just had one big one with icing, but I though that was funny that he had associated those two things without anyone saying anything about it. Then the next morning he kept begging for water. I had given him small sips, but he still couldn’t keep it down. I was exhausted and trying to get a little sleep before Beckett woke up. He had found one of his cups and I caught him filling it up himself from the refrigerator. I let him have a sip, but he wanted more. I turned on the TV moved all the glasses and went and laid back down. Then when Mitch came in to eat breakfast he finds Carter with MY water glass, guzzling the water. Needless to say his stomach wasn’t ready for that much water and we saw it again a little later. My other favorite Carte quote from yesterday is “Mommy I think some candy will help me feel better.” Ha! Ha! (I did give him a lollipop.)
He seems to be doing a little better today although he is still not back to himself. So far no one else has the bug and I really hope no one gets it, especially Beckett. Here is a picture of Carter taking his nap yesterday while watching TV:

Mommy's sweet boys

- We love green!
So far no one is getting pinched in the Jones house. We want to wish everyone a very Happy St. Patrick’s Day! The boys and I are getting ready to head to Amarillo. We get to fly so getting ready is a little bit different than usual. We made the mistake of telling Carter that we were flying when we bought the tickets a couple of weeks ago. He was ready to fly on that plane yesterday!
Carter and Beckett are growing up too fast, but they are more precious every day. Beckett is trying to walk. He wants to so bad, but hasn’t quite figured it out and has earned several bruises in the process. Carter continues to amaze us with his deep thoughts and excellent memory. I get confused just trying to keep up with him! They are so much fun! I hope to post more soon!

Beckett has been taken to the park since he was a newborn. But today instead of just sitting or sleeping in the stroller he was able to swing and slide. He loved swinging. Here is a picture of him swinging and then one with Carter.

Beckett loves swinging!

I took this picture of Beckett right before Christmas. That toy bar must be delicious. Beckett has mastered his walker. Today he was chasing Carter around the tile and belly laughing when he got close to him. Maybe I will get that video posted next month:)
The boys are growing and changing all the time. We are having a blast with them. Beckett is really trying to crawl. He can get up on all fours, but most of the time he is scooting himself backwards. Carter is talking up a storm. He has started asking lots of questions. I am sure it will get annoying at some point, but it is really cute for now.

I know you can’t tell by this picture, but Carter is very excited about Christmas! Beckett is ready for Christmas, too. He has been enjoying playing Santa in his red suit and he is usually all smiles.
Before we took Carter to see Santa, we told him how it all worked and how he had to tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas. Carter did exactly what he was supposed to and asked Santa for a bike. But after we got our picture and were leaving, Carter started yelling “Where’s my bike, Santa? Where’s my bike?” He thought he was going to get a bike right there. Santa knows what I want now, why would I have to wait? So we had to explain that Santa had to go back to the North Pole to make his bike.
Carter has also been enjoying getting a small gift in the Advent calendar every day. It is usually a lollipop, some stickers, or a play tattoo. He runs to check it ten times a day, excitedly saying “What’s in my calendar?” It makes us laugh to see him so happy.
Beckett is doing really well, too. He can now lift his chest up with ease from his tummy. He has started to roll and twist on the floor to get to a toy that he sees. Beckett is also quite the talker. No words yet, but lots of babbling.
We hope everyone else is doing well. We want to wish each of you a wonderful Christmas this year!

We had such a fun Halloween night. Our neighborhood is the only one in our town with sidewalks. So the whole town comes over to trick or treat.

We spent the morning practicing with Carter how to say “Trick or treat”. In retrospect we probably did not need to practice. We let him go ahead and eat the Tootsie Pop he got at the first house. After that he was hooked! He was all business as he methodically went to each house to collect his candy. The whole time he was eating the Tootsie Pop. We finally threw it away when we got home.
Once we returned home, we passed out candy. I almost think Carter had more fun handing out candy. He and Mitch sat on the front porch. And Carter would yell out “Kids! Here you go, kids! Candy!”
Both boys were going to be dragons this year, but Carter changed his mind at the last minute. Oh well. Beckett makes a cute little dragon!

This picture has been stuck in my phone for a long time, and I finally downloaded it the other day. It is the first picture we have, that was taken right after his birth. Look at that sad face!

Carter watches the Dallas Cowboys with me every Sunday now. I have been looking forward to this kind of father-son bonding for a long time! It is great to see him get so excited about something like football. Here he is ready to watch his favorite player:

After many late nights and early mornings without much reward, Beckett has started smiling and cooing. It is so wonderful to have little “conversations” with him. He has the best smile and loves to talk! He has been smiling for about a month, but I have had the hardest time catching it on video. Every time I whip out the camera he clams up. I finally was sneaky and held it out to the side while I talked to him. Here is the video:
